Step One:

Plug your USB Pendrive or External HDD or Memory Card which is Affected.

Step Two:

Go to Start -> Run-> Type CMD and Enter

Step Three:

Find the drive letter for the connected USB drive. For Example, I:
In command prompt, type I:
and Hit enter. Command Prompt will show I:/

Step Four:

Then type
attrib -s -h /s /d *.*
Make sure that you put space between each elements in the code.
and hit enter and wait for few seconds.

How to Disable Facebook Timeline – Simple Trick

Before that You should know its not the permanent solution and it only works in your browser, because we are going to do simple trick in your browsers. How this Trick Works:

Facebook Time line is Not compatible with Older browsers like Internet Explorer  7, So if you are using Old browsers, you can’t view timeline in your profile. If you are using upgraded Versions, you have to change the Compatibility to Older browser. You have to undo the steps which you are going to do for this step to make the browser works like Latest version.
This Trick yet works only with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers.

How To Disable Timeline in Google Chrome:

Step 1:
Go to your Desktop and find the Google Chrome icon, where you launch your Google Chrome Browser.

Step 2:
Right Click the Chrome icon and Select Properties. It will open Properties Dialogue box.

 
Step 3:
In the Properties Dialogue Box, You can see the TARGET Text box which has URL to Launch Google Chrome. Now you should Copy and paste the Following Code in that Target Text box after  ‘chrome.exe’ (Note: leave space after chrome.exe and paste the code).

Step 2:
Search for “USER AGENT SWITCHER” , If you can’t able to find the addon, You just go to this link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ and Install the Add on and Restart the Firefox.

Step 3:
After Installing, check User Agent Switcher button is available in Navigation bar, if not Just Right Click on the Navigation bar and Click customize and drag & drop the User Agent Switcher add-on to the Navigation bar.

Step 4:
Click the User Agent Switcher Button in the Navigation bar and Choose INTERNET EXPLORER 7. Now Go to Facebook and See your Old Facebook profile layout, not the timeline.

One of the things we have been told to lead an organised life is to ‘have a diary' with us. There are two ways of using a diary. One is to write out our thoughts and also what we did each day, so that at some point of time, we can analyse our actions.

There is another and more important aspect of having a diary — keeping track of appointments and things to do. Carrying a diary around is a great habit, but when everything is becoming digital, why not the humble diary?

Drawback

In the digital world, any calendar programme in your desktop computer or the ones that come with e-mail programmes such as Outlook or Thunderbird can help you get organised. They can even alert you at the set time. The biggest drawback of this is that the computer has to be on at the time and also, you cannot be always in front of your computer.

 Here, you can use a mix of some cloud-based programmes and your mobile to get reminded whenever your appointment or ‘to do' is due.

The best and one of the oldest (that has been written about a lot) is the Google / Gmail calendar.

The best part of the calendar app is the ease of use and the ability to send alerts as SMS. Getting the alert as an SMS means you don't need a smartphone to receive the alerts. Even the lowest-priced phone is enough.

If you have a Google account, you have to login to the calendar (http://calendar.google.com). Or if you don't like typing big URLs, you can log in to any Google account (Gmail, Picasa and the like) and click the Calendar tab.

Creating an appointment cannot be made easier. Clicking on the date will open up a small box where you can enter something like ‘8 a.m. Meet Joseph'. The calendar will automatically create an entry at 8 a.m. on that date.

Alert

The alert will be delivered on time on your mobile. You can also edit the appointment to tell the calendar when you have to be alerted.

Of course, you have to set the mobile number in the calendar settings. The alerts will also be sent to the e-mail address you specify.

This is not restricted only to Google. Similar functionalities are available across all platforms such as Yahoo, Windows Live (Hotmail) and Apple. If you have a smartphone, these calendars sync to the phone and you get pop-ups at the scheduled time.

Even if you don't have a smartphone, you can still use your low-end phone's calendar to schedule reminders. The only issue is that the calendar in low-end phones may not be very user-friendly, and keying in multiple reminders or appointments can be a painful affair, but you can still get alerts.

Calendar apps

But, these calendar apps won't help if you have multiple things to do. For that there are task managers where you can add several tasks and clear them one by one when you complete them.

There are ‘To do' managers available across all platforms — with cloud-device sync. Most of the phones have them, but again, if you have a lot ‘to do', you will be spending most of your day keying in the ‘to dos'.

Gmail has its own task manager for mobiles (mail.google.com/tasks), for which, obviously, you will need a browser. If you want more functionality, again, as always, you have apps at your service. 

Android market has, as usual, the most number of apps. Each app comes with its own features, but many of them have one feature that makes things easier — syncing with Google Tasks. That way, whatever tasks you key in gets automatically synchronised with Google Tasks. If you want to directly access Google Task, there are apps for that too. If all the apps do the same thing, how does the market support multiple apps? Most of them differ in the ease of use and user interface. There are some that come with widget functionality so that the tasks are visible on the phone screen itself, without you having to open the task app every time. Many of them also alert you through the notification screen.

Task apps

One thing you will have to remember while downloading the task apps is that there are other apps that are also called ‘task managers' that have a totally different function — to manage the apps running in the phone. You have to ensure you download a ‘To Do' app instead of an app manager.

Talking of USP, one of the most popular apps in the Android market is Astrid. While it has the Google Task sync function, you can also collaborate with your friends and have combined tasks. It also has a beautiful calendar interface. 

If your computer has Microsoft's One Note installed, you can make it a functional task manager that can sync with almost all your smart devices. One Note has apps for all major platforms such as Windows Phone, iPhone and Android. Even if you have devices in different platforms, you can sync your One Note to all the devices. 

Can they replace your good old diary? Yes, putting it on paper has its own advantages — it doesn't crash, the data doesn't get deleted by mistake and you don't have to worry about accounts, passwords and platform compatibility. But with sheer convenience, digital diaries and To Do managers do make our lives much easier.

Beware of heavy discounts on phone

This morning I saw a deal in my mail inbox that sounded too good to be true; the sender was promising an Android phone from Acer with 3G, WiFi, 3 megapixel camera for just Rs 5,000.

While the deal was indeed true there was a catch, the model that was being sold was from old stock. And once I read the specs it was clear the deal was not as good as it sounded. The phone was based on Android 1.6 (the early version of Android) with a 416 MHz processor and just 256 MB RAM. Today, even the entry level Android phone from an Indian manufacturer comes with a 600 MHz processor and Android 2.2 or 2.3. So this phone though from Acer would be as good as throwing away those Rs 5000.

I prodded further and found that online retailers regularly do this to clear old stocks. While some of this old stock clearance gives you good value for money most of them are just waste of money.

Here are some example of the waste of money products Palm Centrio, iMate Ultimate 8150 Windows Mobile 6.0, Acer Mobile beTouch E130, HTC Magic.

While these are just few examples, the practice is common amongst the online retailers. So how do you figure whether the product is a waste or a steal (good deal). Well just a couple of things will make it clear.

Operating system

The operating system that is alive is a good OS, a dead one makes the device dead as well. Android 1.6 is long dead, so is Windows Mobile (Windows Phone is the current OS), Palm OS and Danger OS.

Today these operating systems are useless without any support leaving the users with a device that can't be updated, you can't have new applications. In some cases you do not even get the basic services like mail, maps etc despite the hardware being capable. For Example Airtyme Flaunt, despite having GPS and Push mail facility, will not offer any of these functions because the OS which was cloud based is dead so you do not have the backup to support.

So steer clear of any of the above mentioned operating system based devices which are presented to you as new.

Hardware

Today the minimum standard for any Smartphone is 600 MHz processor, anything lower than that is not worth buying. Not only a slow processor makes the device very slow but also you cannot upgrade the device as new software usually demand powerful hardware to perform. For example, not all the Android 2.3 operating system based devices can be updated to Android 4.0 ICS which requires very powerful hardware.

Also look at RAM which should at least be of 256 MB. GPS, WiFi, and 3G are other key features that the phone should have to be relevant today.

Is the handset still available?

Search in the internet for the handset. If the device was launched more than a year ago but is not available in three or four online stores of repute, than this device's merit needs to be evaluated thoroughly before you make the purchase. Check if the upgrade for the handset was released.

For example an Android 2.1 update for an Android 1.6 device should be available online. Best way to do that is to visit the official site of the handset manufacturer and search for support.

Microsoft's online store in India was hit by hackers over the weekend and is currently offline.

Visitors to microsoftstore.co.in are met with the following message: "The Microsoft Store India is currently unavailable. Microsoft is working to restore access as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

The hack, first reported by wpsauce.com and picked up by the Times of India, occurred last night. The website was replaced with an image of a hooded individual wearing a Guy Fawkes mask - the symbol of hacker collective Anonymous - with the line "Evil Shadow Team" at the bottom.

தற்போது புதிதாக ஏதேனும் மின்னஞ்சல் வந்தால் Task Bar-ல் Indication தோன்றும். அதை கிளிக் செய்தால் தோன்றும் விண்டோவில் அந்த மின்னஞ்சல் எங்கிருந்து வந்துள்ளது, அதன் நோக்கம் என்ன என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.

(1) Make copy of url of your uploaded image by right clicking of your mouse on any photos of you on facebook.

(2) Paste that url link in any text editor like notepad or wordpad.

(3) Now go to that image which you want to delete from your facebook profile.

(4) Click on small gear icon (of setting) at top right corner near close (x) and click on “delete photo”.

(5) It will be deleted from all your uploaded thumbnails.

(6) Now go to the text editor on which you have pasted url of your uploaded photo before deleting it.

(7) Copy that link (if not already copied) and paste into new tab of your web browser.

(8) Fish…….You will find your deleted image still on facebook server though it was deleted from your facebook profile.

(9) It will be also viewable without logged in on facebook too.

(10) Are you follow this as one of the features or Disadvantage of using facebook?

Motorola has started rolling out a new software update for the MOTOACTV, a device aimed at active people. The new software update (v4.55.xx) brings in quite a few changes, including an improved battery life, and some new features, which quite a few people would appreciate.

PlayStation Vita - Get reVitalised Review

To many, the PlayStation Vita may seem like a foolish endeavour on Sony’s part. When the iPhone and high-end Android phones can give you access to tens of thousands of games, many of them free, as well as other phone and portable computing features, why on Earth would anyone even care about a dedicated gaming handheld anymore? Actually, it’s quite easy to see why. The fact that Apple hasn’t killed off the iPod yet means that there is still a sizeable portion of consumers who like to keep their music separate from their phones. The same applies to gaming. There is still a massive section of gamers that prefers a dedicated gaming device; just look at the blistering pace at which the 3DS is flying off Japanese shelves. And I haven’t even got to the many compelling arguments the Vita itself makes in its favor.


The main question is this – does the Vita offer anything that a gamer who owns a high-end Android or iOS device doesn’t already have? Yes, it does, and that not only includes some great games you won’t find on any other portable device (Uncharted: Golden Abyss, anyone?), but the hardware itself. Sony may have fallen behind in the consumer electronics space over the last few years, but they’ve been wise to incorporate a lot of what consumers have come to expect from current-gen portable devices within the Vita.

Touchscreen navigation

The Vita’s predecessor – the PSP, went through many iterations and a few redesigns. And each time a newer model was released, there was a noticeable drop in build quality, thanks to the use of cheaper materials to be able to price the device lower. Of all the models, the launch model – the PSP 1000 still boasts of the best build quality. Same is the case with the PS3; the older “phat” model came with touch-sensitive buttons, while the slim one seems somewhat cheaper. The Vita, like its predecessor, is built exceedingly well. It’s neither too light nor too heavy, and even though it’s substantially larger than the PSP, it feels just right in your hands.

Taking up most of the real estate is the Vita’s resplendent 5-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen. It’s bright, crisp and while its performance under direct sunlight could be better, the only real worry is that without Gorilla Glass-like protection, the screen could scratch over time. A screen protector should definitely be one of your purchases along with the Vita. Unlike the PSP, the Vita features two analog sticks, and these aren’t the nubs the PSP had either. They’re raised and look and feel just like the analogs sticks on the PS3 controller; just smaller. None of the buttons feel flimsy and all the buttons on the front as well as the analog sticks are located conveniently within the reach of your thumbs. One minor gripe with the layout is that the X button is a little too close to the right analog stick, but this is something that you will get used to over time.

The back side

The XrossMediaBar or XMB, which was the UI used by Sony in the PSP and PS3 and even in some non-PlayStation products has been dropped in favor of a more colourful interface that is completely touch-driven. I liked the XMB, because it did exactly what a console’s user interface is supposed to – get you where you want to go with minimum fuss and allow you to get into a game as soon as possible. The Vita’s interface, however, doesn’t seem as intuitive. The touch screen is as responsive as you would expect, but the layout could have been better. All apps and games are represented by circular icons on the home screen, but the more games and apps you have, the more home screens they are spread out over. You can arrange these icons as you like, but you can’t group or resize them to reduce clutter.
